Beautiful Baby

I did a little photoshoot for a family friend this past weekend. It was tons of fun. I learned a lot abotu my photography style and my strengths and weaknesses. I have a bad habit right now of getting too close to my subjects with my camera, and not just zooming with the lens, making my pictures blurry. But now I know, so I can improve! Here are some of my favorites

University Field Trip

These are some of my favorites form our fireld trip up to the university. That was so much fun, and it was great practice! I learned from all of my mistakes. I again had a really hard time getting the camera to focus on what I want, so that was frustrating, but I still came out with somer eally great pictures.

Manual Settings

I am still struggling trying to figure this out! I love the natural light that comes through our family room window, and wanted to sit down and try out the manual settings. I propably picked a hard spot and subject for my first try ;) I changed ISO, Apertures, and shutter speeds, and still have not found the perfect exposure! Perhaps by the end of class I will get it!

Assignment Two: Something I Love

These are just some fun pictures of my horse on a cloudy summer day. I love the look of the clouds so I grabbed the camera and ran out.

These pictures were all taken on auto. I was really excited to get these home and look at them on the computer, but was s lighty dissapointed by the graininess I found in all the pictures. I guess it goes to show that auto isnt always best :) I am very excited to be learing more about the manual setting so that I can get some really great shots.

One trick I have learned is to get down on your subjects level, that is what I was going for in these next few pictures. It was kind of hard to get the right angle, because the grass was wet, and yes there were little horsey presents all over!

I thought a lot of these pictures looked great in black and white. I personally like a lot of contrast in my pictures.
